Cheapest Hawaii Home Owner's Insurance Quote -- I Hope You Didn't Forget These Tips

How far have you gone in positioning yourself to get the cheapest Hawaii home owner insurance rates? Have you restricted yourself to one or two recommendations that your friends shared with you a long time ago? Won't you love to get more tips since that will imply more massive savings? I have a few more time-tested tips here...

1. Make sure you have fire extinguishers in your home at very strategic points or near all fire sources. For instance, your kitchen must have a good and functioning fire extinguisher. It's crucial that the fire extinguisher be good enough for the area it is meant to protect.

Make sure they are within easy reach and ensure they are working well. This may seem negligible but you'll pay more if you don't have them in your home.

2. Your premium will reduce if you maintain your home. Take care of things like dead tree limbs on your land. They are capable of raising a liability claim. Such regular maintenance will take little from you but result in considerable savings over time.

3. Don't insure your home along with the land it is built on as this will cost you more but very unnecessary. A good number of folks spend much more than they should on home insurance on account of this mistake. You have made same mistake if you insured your house for the cost you bought it without finding out the cost of the land it's built on and deducting it.

If you made this mistake quickly call your agent and review your home insurance policy. Subtract the price of the land and you'll realize that you will need far less coverage.

With such a review you will reduce your rates by a huge margin and still have sufficient home insurance coverage. No matter what you do and who you meet, bear it in mind that the only things you insure are things that can be stolen or damaged and your land is not one of such.

4. A home with a swimming pool is something everyone likes having. But as far as your home insurance company is concerned it raises a home's risk and therefore incurs higher rates.

While I won't tell you to NOT have a swimming pool around your home, make sure you take all necessary safety measures. If you don't your home insurance premium will shoot through the roof.

5. You can bring down your home insurance rates by asking for and evaluating Hawaii house insurance quotes from at least five reputable insurance quotes sites.

Here are my favorite quotes sites (highly recommended)...
